spending time with my minis....

I am off today to get some much needed family time with our little ones...buying a pan at the Goodwill to make our crystals, picking out a backpack for my littlest bug and attending to our Saturday library activities. Busy but always fun. So today I celebrate the minis...which I went a little mini crazy last night and couldn't stop. They are easy, use small pieces of scraps and perfect sets for gifts or gift tags.

First a set of minis using MelJen's Designs. Eight little cards in all...each sporting thread and adhesive pearls, but each using a different variety of paper from my scrap bin.
This second set uses images from Whimsie Doodles.

Off to get ready and head out the door. Have a wonderful Saturday and see you back here tomorrow hopefully for the 365 Cards challenge and a Nikki Sivils post using her new products...which I am so excited about!

in a days work...

The past few days have been filled with so much joy. Our little ones have returned from their summer adventures with big old smiles on their faces, they have enjoyed (and practically stalked) our newest addition to the family Sandy the kitty, and able to spend sometime with my mother-in-law. Now that I have a moment when everyone has gone to bed there is so much to share with you!

First, the
Whimsie Wednesday Challenge has been posted and it was my first post for Whimsie Doodles. Hope you can join in the challenge...I would love to see your work! My theme was "somethin' sweet" and these are the tags I made using sentiment edibles...
Second, today is MelJen's Designs Challenge and oh my goodness are the new images absolutely adorable...and once you lays eyes on them know you will feel the same! This week's challenge is based on a sketch for which I used the Monkey Toes image...
And after seeing the chocolates (which if you know me I can't resist the sweets)...I wanted to use the chocolate treat image, singling out the center chocolate...

Finally...the winner of the card set is Corbett Creations! Please contact me at with your information by Monday and I will send it on its way...congratulations! Stay tuned as I am gathering another set of goodies to giveaway beginning next Monday!

and a happy day to you to...

I have always been the type of person to let others step ahead in line...say excuse me, please and thank a smile or wave hello. It has become a challenge everyday to find others who do the same...slow down and realize that not everyone is a road block in their path. So after an unpleasant encounter with a grumpy man on the road this morning I am happy to say that people like this will not ruin my day. I will learn from this, pay more attention to being kind and hope that it may have an impact on the people around me...eventually. Just a quick thank you to Patsy, Kate and each of you for showing me that there are genuinely kind people out there!

As the 365 cards Sunday Sketch approached this week...

"Celebrate Your Happiness" spoke to me. The soft colors, my favorite ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique and touches of felt mixed perfectly together to make something I can smile about.

Don't forget that there is only one day remaining in the card giveaway in the previous to go find new creations to create the next giveaway :) Also, Wednesday is my Whimsie Doodle challenge post that is sure to bring something sweet...MelJen's Designs challenge on Thursday...and Nikki Sivils post is right around the corner on the 1st.

Have a wonderful day my friends!

you could be a winner...

When typing in that title it quickly reminded me to the game of LIFE commercial that was on years ago...funny how that stuck in my memory...anyhow, I have completed my first easel card based on the MelJen's Designs challenge from yesterday.
Using a new image from yesterday's release: Sail Away.

So on to the giveaway...After many wonderful emails and requests from all of you I am considering only taking the summer off with my Etsy shop...but after four years I may be enjoying the time away too much. Until then I thought that I would begin my giveaway of cards, tags or whatever I have posted on my blog. Today you could be a winner of these 5" cards, 5 cards in all.

It's simple...just leave a comment below and a winner will be chosen on Tuesday. Good luck and can't wait to send this bundle off!

a very very unbirthday...

It's not my birthday, or anyone's that I know of here, but couldn't resist using this image from Whimsie Doodles for the Wednesday let the shellabration begin for your unbirthday. This sketch was created by Alicia and what a fun sketch it was!

Don't forget to head on over to play along. You could be the lucky winner of an adorable image.

My first giveaway for my cards will be tomorrow. You don't want to miss it. Some of my favorites from over the past few weeks will be up for grabs. Hope to see you back here. I will also be participating in the MelJen's Design challenge, and on my off week. I have to see how to make an easel card first though.

Until tomorrow!

lets play...

It's time for a new mission from Mission to Create. Here is the mission: bingo card, sandpaper, handmade flower, ink it up!, and tissue paper. So list in hand I created this...

Kate, my wonderful etsy friend, has amazing vintage Bingo cards in her shop. When presented with this mission I quickly jumped over to her site and couldn't be more happy with the result.

I had a visions last night of a felt mobile or wall art for one of my boys rooms...using my supplies to create something for them would be ideal. We will see if it comes out the way I have planned. Supplies: two dowels, felt circles, sewing to go turn those into what is swimming around in my head.

It is more week of quiet and then my house will be filled with my little ones chatting once again. Have an amazing day and enjoy crafting!

time for a little change...

For my 365 Card Sunday challenge we were asked to work with Lauretta's Digital Stamps.

Change for the better is always welcome in my life. After an amazing weekend away with my hubby it is time to change directions once again...and on the table for discussion, my etsy shop. I am not one to balance my life well...I spend most my time crafting, being a mother, and spending time with friends and somewhere along the way I lost that much needed me time and being present for my kids, husband, and home 100%. As I love crafting my participation in my blog and design teams will remain strong...I really can't pull myself away completely. I have met some amazing people who inspire me in so many ways. All of the items I will be posting are up for grabs, but thinking it may be fun to have an end of month giveaway of everything I created and one name will be drawn?...let me know if you think this will work. I can't help but want to share with you and put a smile on someone's face. So on that note I will be finishing up my orders...getting back to my challenges and projects with a slightly different outlook and agenda.

Thank you for always being supportive and hoping that will allow me to look back with no regrets.

a new day another smile...

Life is good...most days, and slapping on a smile just makes life a little better. I was able to peak at my little ones photos, thus far, enjoying country life and my goodness do they have smiles stretching from ear to ear. My oldest told my mother that he loved it there because "they let them do whatever they wanted"...which means they open their back doors to two acres of landscaped yard and a pool and let them run free. I wouldn't mind running around there myself, but really hoping they will want to come home eventually.

Just a little to share before we jet off on a weekend getaway...crossing my fingers we don't melt in the heat. These were made a while back, but just getting around to posting them. I will be back with my 365 Cards challenge card on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend and hope your day is full of smiles as well!

room for the two of us...

It's almost time for us to fly away on a little weekend getaway. Full of excitment, a little nervous about leaving home, but know that it is greatly needed. So as I prepare for the few days away I am trying my hardest to keep up with all of the challenges, orders, and all of the ideas swimming through my if I could avoid sleeping in (which is difficult not to do when the kiddos are away) then I would probably get more done :)

So for today's MelJen's Designs challenge we were asked to created a card that was 4.5" x 9".
Supplies used: penpal mouse from MelJen's Designs, wrinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique
, strawberries flourishes stamp sentiment from Paper Garden Projects.Supplies used: fuzzy owl from MelJen's Designs

Hope I see your card entry in this week's challenge!

freshly plucked...

Bringing you something sweet today and freshly plucked from my craft room this morning. Feeling a little lost without the continually chatter of my little ones circling around my feet. However, there are no schedules demanding my immediate attention and only a long...ok, very long...list of projects to complete in my craft room, a leak that is has me completely puzzled upstairs now, and a pile of laundry so high I bet if I stacked one on top of the other it would reach the ceiling. I know it sounds like fun, but it is all mine :)

So just to share two items today and get myself ready for whatever comes my way. I need inspiration and quickly! As I experiment with Copic markers and my new stamps from
Paper Garden Projects (flourishes: from the garden and strawberries) this is what I cam up with...
Using Copic markers are still pretty new for me. I probably have seven markers and really don't know which ones to acquire next and saving a little here and there just to get one. It may take me a little while, but maybe someday I will finally get it.

Another strawberry find from Whimsie Doodles sentiment edibles. The great thing about this set is the sentiments and just overall style of the food items. Simple to print and cut!

Have an amazing day and hopefully something will hit me in the inspiration department. Something new is brewing and I need to find a moment to play.

when they all leave...

It is time to relax...slightly...and get back to the craft room. Never imagined my July would be so filled with family visits, weekend getaways, and a bunch of crafting, ok the crafting part I knew. As my little men waited, with their shoes on, for five hours today to flee our house and board the plane to grammy's house everything is quiet...maybe a little too quiet. This visit with my mother seemed a little too short, but loved having her here.

How cute is the set "Have A Seat" from Whimsie Doodles? Loved all the digital images in this set, especially the little kitty. My good friend Kate from Kate's Etsy shop was so generous in sending me a fabulous collection of ribbon and fibers that were used in this card. Check out her Etsy shop as she always has a great selection of vintage and handmade items!

In order to keep me in the crafting world while spending time with family I made one little tag. I love Whimsie Doodles sentiment stamps and MelJen's Designs cupcake freebie. Felt it went so well together...and of course have to have a little wrinkle ribbon in the mix.

For the winner of the wrinkle ribbon...congratulations Garret Family for being the lucky number 13 which was drawn. Your wrinkle ribbon bundle will be on it's way as soon as I hear back from you.

A huge thank you to Patsy from Prairie Bird Boutique for supplying the bundles for this giveaway and to all of you who participated. I have truly enjoyed reading, and treasure, each and every comment I receive. Stay tuned for another giveaway next week. One last card before I go. I noticed that one little red bow is missing from her hair, but still just as cute. This image is from Whimsie Doodles and from the new release this month. Check out this months new images. Working on a few more to share and hope to be back over the next few days to share a few more items. Trying to think up new techniques and something fun to show and tell soon!

Have a great day and check in over at my Etsy shop tomorrow evening as I will begin listing more items.

fly away with me...

The bags are almost packed, my little men are bursting with excitement and it is almost time to send them on their two week getaway where they are pampered beyond belief. As I am excited for fourteen days of uninterrupted crafting and sleeping arms already feel the emptiness as I don't get to hug and hold them each and every day. Getting used to the silence in my house...besides me singing away to another classic 80's difficult as well, but always knowing that the kids are having an amazing adventure in the Pacific NW.

So for my Sunday card, for 365 Cards, I choose to use the fancy butterfly from MelJen's Designs to capture the adventure and excitement my boys have for spending days and nights on acres of grassy fields and pine forrests (which I so miss the scent of pine...palm trees don't really give off a scent...ok, I haven't really tried to smell them).

Hope you are enjoying your summer adventures!

what's in your purse...

I have transitioned over the years from a diaper bag, to a smaller diaper bag, to an over the shoulder bag, now a small little black purse. Who ever thought that would happen...not me. I am not one to use many accessories...and maybe shouldn't call purses accessories, but I do. As my friends fall head over heels for purses in every color I continue to think how can I get rid of it and stuff everything in my back pocket. But then it happened...I fell in love with a purse!

I was recently invited to be a guest designer for Creations by AR. With so many amazing templates to choose from my eyes were drawn to the purse. Although I can't throw this one over the shoulder for a girls night out, I knew I could tuck a little something inside and give it to a friend. The Haute Tote template is adorable and such an amazing template.

Don't forget to scroll down for the Prairie Bird Boutique giveaway and the ribbon flower tutorial over at You have until the 10th to enter for this bundle!

Have a fabulous day!

my heart is full...

As I prepare for my mothers, crafting, cleaning, cleaning (as you can see I snuck in crafting)...there is so much excitment in the air. The kids have the stack of sprakles waiting close by, the smell of brownies baking in the oven will soon be circulating around the house to cover up the smell of cleaning solution that has taken over, and I am ready to kick it with the family. My heart is full of love and happiness today.
This weeks mission over at the Mission to Create blog was to use the following:

Office Supply
Orange and Pink
Round Edges
Use a Punch
An Object -No people/animals

Hope you will join in the mission.

Have an amazing 4th, be safe, and see you back here tomorrow for a Whimsie Doodle reveal and only two days away from the ribbon tutorial and giveaway.

You can tie it in a can tie it in a bow...either way you use it is sure to be just beautiful! As I am creating here and there and really everywhere in my house this weekend I am stopping to give a little show and tell again for the lovely Prairie Bird Boutique ribbon I can't seem to get enough of...right? Here are a couple of cards created this weekend for special Etsy friends of mine...
Additional supplies from Paper Garden Projects: Fiskars all around quote clear stamps , Webster's Pages paper and KaiserCraft adhesive pearls.

There is nothing like your mother coming to visit and feeling like she has to be put to work...well maybe when it comes to crafting an extra hand may help...hope she doesn't read this. Off to go get plenty of snuggle time in with the boys before they head off for weeks without me...I know they are crying on the inside, you think?

See you back here tomorrow!

want some pie...

After a wonderful visit with friends yesterday and working into the wee hours of the morning on a few orders we are taking it easy here this morning...moving at a slow pace and enjoying pj time. Only a few more days of calm then jetting off from here to there begins as family visits, vacations, and creating is in full swing. It has been a summer tradition of ours to detach from the little ones for a couple weeks and send them off to their grandparents for an extended vacation. This year they get is all about them and boy are they ready to go. Who wouldn't love country living for a few weeks. Catching fish, playing in the backyard creeks, and running all over two acres of grassy fields. Makes me miss the summer days in the Pacific Northwest! As we keep indoors here in the south we become creative while we count down the days until their departure. Baking treats is probably our favorite past time as we picked up a large bag of M&Ms for our cookies today. Let's just hope they are not all eaten before they make it to the bowl.

So as we continue our sweet theme for MelJen's Designs and for today's challenge ...

Thank you for joining me here on my laid back day. Back to work and getting around to making our cookies...making sure we save a few for daddy.

Check back tomorrow as I share with you my Nikki Sivils blog post and some exciting sneak peeks as a new Doodlelicous Diva!
