a new year...

Wish you a very Happy New Year!  This may be the first year we allow our little ones to try and stay awake since we have a week to recover before school starts back.  Spending the day at home as they recover from colds, my hubby playing his music and me creating with just about everything then on to painting our living room (ok, this is if I get plenty of coffee brewing this morning).  Have a wonderful and safe New Year and see you back here in 2013!

in the works...

Been busy, but can't share anything yet....still a couple of days and a few projects to complete.  Crunch time.  Having fun creating after the holidays and the Christmas themed products have been tucked away.  Time to play!

What are you working on now that the holidays are over?

Mr. Santa please...

Oh...have a holly jolly Christmas!  Today's project is a bit of vintage mixed with Christmas heart for Riddersholm Design Challenge #3.  Used a mix of the holiday collections with Studio Calico's wood shapes to create a dimensional ornament...and, of course, topped it off with glitter.  I love how using Copic markers on the wood brings out the details in the wood itself. Also used a goosebumps sparkle spray to add a little texture to the is not wet (although it does look that way).

Head on over to Riddersholm to join in the challenges this month!  One last, non holiday card to share today after a pleasant afternoon creating with American Crafts yesterday...

Happy holidays to all my crafty friends and will be back later this week with more!

my pastel heart...

Had a bit of quite time last night while the boys were settling down from a day of holiday fun at school.  Recently cleaned my craft studio/corner/desk...whatever it can is officially called...and felt it needed to be messed up a bit (too clean!).  So pulled out a few of my American Crafts paper and embellishments and went to work.
I love so many things about AC....let me see...the papers, stamps, stickers, brads, fabric stickers, ribbon...and I am sure I am missing things.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  A bit chilly here...high of 60 degrees today and that is cold!  Don't buy our boys cold weather clothes so hopefully it warms a bit otherwise we are off to the store next week for some winter wearables.  My Oregon family and friends have been enjoying...well, at least I think they have...snow and a little sad we didn't head back this year to enjoy it with them.  Maybe next year.

Have a great day and be back tomorrow with some Riddersholm and a new giveaway!  Make sure to check out my current giveaway two posts down.

file it away...

A day to celebrate, a day to remember, a day to cherish, a day to gaze into these big blue eyes of my oldest son's from six years ago and just smile.  While gathering my items needed for today's Pink Paislee project I happen to glance up in my craft room to rediscover this adorable photo.  That is all I needed for inspiration.

As the Countdown to Christmas winds down for Pink Paislee, I was happy to be able to add one more project to their amazing month of inspiration!  A accordion file folder created using City Sidewalk.  Make sure to enter to win a prize on the blog post today!

Enjoy your day, your Saturday and your special moments!

pretty packages...

Our holiday shopping has "wrapped" up and our teacher gifts are set and ready to be delivered.  This year it was time to fancy them up a bit, put some sparkle and care into the presentation.  This project is posted on Lily Bee today.
I find myself picking up items like this glass jar, wooden and paper boxes and much more to alter at a moments notice :)  This time around it worked as packaging for a gift card.
Make sure to pop on over to see Stacey and Cindy's amazing projects.  The colors and inspiration will put you in the holiday spirit today!

Remember you have until midnight to enter the gift card giveaway below.  Spending my day cleaning my craft space...again.  After a new desk, which should be arriving soon for my dear hubby, I felt it was time to purge, clean and organize.  Getting a little better parting with items I haven't used in some time and hope to find them new homes.  My husband and I share a creative space.  His musical equipment, our office computer/desk and my craft area in a room that is about 10' x 12'.  It is always a work in progress and when our needs does the space.  We shall see if this becomes a three day process (now into day two) or if I can drink one more cup of coffee and finish it up.  I have so many new items that I would love to give away to a new home and a box to ship them to someone.  I will post it here tomorrow if you are interested in it the giveaway will be posted then.  Will include a new Scor-Pal, Xerox sticker maker, paper pads, Maya Road chipboard sets and much more!  Tomorrow I will also be sharing  a project from Precious Remembrance. Stay tuned...

a place to love...

It is almost time to switch from Christmas creations to Valentine...and what better way to do so than to pick up a fabulous magazine such as this one...Stitch Craft Create.  If you have read through one before than you may know why it is such an amazing collection of projects.  From the color inspiration to the step by step tutorials...I am in love.  So, it was such an honor to have been asked to contribute to this magazine...then, the email came that my little hearts would appear on the cover (eek!).  I have read, re-read and will continue to flip through these pages to look at all of the amazing projects for winter and Valentine's Day.  Here is just a little peek at a card that is published in this as well.
Using a bit of Pink Paislee, Prairie Bird Boutique Ribbon, and Webster's Paper.

Don't forget about all of the amazing giveaways, including my gift card giveaway below, taking place at most of your favorite scrapbook companies through this week. Still many more projects to share soon!

early christmas gift...

Over the years I have worked on a craft that truly makes my heart happy, as many of us experience as gatherers, artists and creators.  I recently was asked to join Northridge Publishing's Cricut Design Team and, with no hesitation, accepted.  Can't wait to continue sharing my love of creating with others and with some amazing companies/designers.

Believe this calls for a giveaway!

To win a $25 Etsy Gift Card, leave a comment here by Monday the 17th by midnight.  One lucky winner will receive an e-gift card as early as the 18th just in time for Christmas!

on my list...

The day is almost here, school is winding down, gifts waiting to be shipped, house a bit messy and making time to finish a few holiday projects.  This year seems much different than most.  All things holiday have taken a back seat to our usual routine and in need of a little festive pick-me-up.
The first set, using Therm O Web, American Crafts, Pink Paislee and Precious Remembrance, is made up of handmade goodies for the holidays.  This set includes stamped envelopes, holiday cards and ornaments.
This ornament features embellishments from Pink Paislee's City Sidewalks (completely in love with these snowflakes).  I also used Therm O Web's glitter dust spray to give a little shine to this bell...amazing stuff!
Yesterday, over on the American Crafts blog, this ornament and tutorial is posted.  Used layers of paper and chipboard to create this ornament.  This stamp set is one of my favorites.  Something about those holly berries and leaves.

This holiday card is posted on Lily Bee today.  Went with a theme of using dies and stamps on this card.  Used the pennant from the Christmas Cheer clear stamp set to create the trees along with the bottom half of the arrow from the Autumn Spice clear stamp set.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday countdown.  Make sure to visit each of these blogs as there are some fabulous giveaways to join in on.

a Pink Paislee Chrismtas...

This is such an amazing time of year for inspiration, giveaways and a bunch of creative fun.  Pink Paislee is doing the Countdown to Christmas and hope you have been following along to enter to win the prizes above.  Head on over to the blog or Facebook page for more details on how to enter.

Make sure to check out the festivities!  Off to address the holiday cards, try to wrap up the holiday shopping here online, sew a few gifts and continue to capture more special moments of my family.  Working up to starting my Project Life project as projects here wind down a bit more.  My goal is to complete a book by the end of next year.

Just can't believe how much older he is getting...almost nine yikes!  This was a quick picture taken while playing soccer the other night.  We have been riding our bikes up to the school with our orange cones and flat soccer ball to play a little with the kids.  Lots of laughing, running, tricking (yes my hubby is a trickster) and enjoying every moment of it.  Love my boys and don't mind being outnumbered.

Have a happy day!

where there is holiday cheer...

Where is the time going these days?  Jumping from cleaning, to doing a little shopping, to the play dates and trying to fit in work outs.  My poor little feet, but it is greatly needed here.  Before I spend the evening creating for something very exciting to come in a couple of weeks I wanted to hop on and share today's projects from Lily Bee and Precious Remembrance.
A little snowman puts a smile on my face any day.  I love just using the scissors and paper to create these little guys.  So easy to create.  For supplies head on over to Lily Bee today!  Next a little something for Precious Remembrance.
Additional project information can be found on the PR blog today as well.  Love finding wooden pieces around the craft room to embellish.  Finally, a little snapshot of my day as I walked to pick the kids up from school.
Enjoy carrying the camera around in my pocket for simple moments like these.  I have felt for the past five years that it is easy to get wrapped up in the drama that can be life sometimes that you miss the little moments.  This photo stood out today as he is all dressed in his school uniform, crunching acorns under his feet and waiting for his big brother to be released from school.  He is still my baby at six years old, that is for sure.

Have a peaceful evening and see you back here soon!

back to the basics...

Did you head out for some holiday shopping this weekend?  I had one store...just mind.  When Saturday hit I jumped out of bed, got ready, one little man in tow and headed to Joann's.  That was all I needed to kick off some of the holiday projects I have in mind.  Found some beautiful quilting fabrics, a pattern for an apron and this beautiful flower pin to make it extra special...why not, right?  With so much fabric, the plan is to create a quilted throw blanket, oven mitts and see what we have left over...maybe something little for myself.

I spent some time just hangin' with my boys this week.  Took a few walks, played a little tag and snapped a few pictures.  Have you ever seen the movie Yes Man?  There is a run group in the movie that snaps photos during their run and it gave me an idea.  After deciding to scale back a bit with the closing of my shop and challenge blog, I am committing myself to live more in the moment with who and what is around me.  So this is just one of the photos taken on that walk...

I love the idea of heading out and about just clicking away.  We took a few on the walk to the park, a at the play ground and on the walk/run home.  I guess if I wasn't so behind in technology and actually had a camera on my phone this may be a little easier...but I don't so the camera is just fine by me.

Before I being working on dinner and a few projects for Wednesday that I am in the middle of...check out my almost completed advent calendar over at Riddersholm.

Enjoy your day and see you back here soon!

holiday spirit...

First, Happy Thanksgiving and holiday week to all my fellow U.S. crafters!  We celebrated a day early here while my in-laws were in town and will be departing in the morning.  The boxes of holiday decor has begun to make its way into the house and our first little tree is all decked out and pretty.  Tomorrow is the beginning of our countdown to Christmas and I am so ready this year.  Projects are underway, including this doorknob hang posted on Therm O Web blog today...
This was a quick and easy project with minimal supplies and can be created for so many occasions.     Something about the rich peacock felt color as the backdrop for the red petals.

And now for the winner of the stamp and tinsel giveaway on the post below is ....Theresa Dagostino Forge!  Make sure to send me an email so I can get this in the mail to you.  Thank you so much for all of the comments and stopping by to take a peek.  I will be doing another giveaway this weekend of a bunch of paper and ink if you would like to stop on by once again to enter!

An update as well...if you are waiting for a package from me or from The Creative Paper Trade, it will be in the mail by the end of the week. And finally...I recently had to come to a decision to close the CPT challenge blog.  The amazing talent and inspiration was so incredible and thank everyone who shared with us; however, after closing my Etsy shop a couple of months ago I have realized that my focus needs to be here at home a bit more.  After years of going back and forth, I believe the fear of letting go of a few things kept me from growing and moving forward.  It made it easy to make the same choices, stay in the same frame of mind and follow the same path in order to eventually...somehow...maybe reach my goals.  Today I can say that the fear of failure, the guilt of potentially making the wrong choices is subsiding a bit.  I am welcoming change and growing each and everyday.  It is uncomfortable, sometimes it doesn't feel right and feeling my heart race makes me doubt what I am doing, but after five years of the same...why not?  So as Thanksgiving is tomorrow, what a perfect time to give thanks and feel blessed with the opportunities, people and life I have been surrounded by and given.  Here's to growing and as my friend Kate said a few posts ago..."you are pruning just to make room for rose."  So very true!

Hugs to you all!

Side will still get to see flower tutorials here on my blog on the tabs above.  Will post here when I have the next one complete next week!
